The Pacific Northwest Fjord Horse Promotional Group

The Ballard Fjord Horse parade entry is sponsored by the PNFPG and all participants involved with presenting the horses in the parade are members of the PNFPG.

As explained on www.pnfpg.org, "The Pacific Northwest Fjord Promotional Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Norwegian Fjord Horse. Our membership is made up of Fjord owners, breeders and others who show a common interest in this unique breed. Through horse shows, parades and other events throughout the year we strive to promote interest in the breed and to insure a healthy future for this fine horse."

The PNFPG was very gracious when we first approached them with our idea to facilitate the presentation of Fjord horses at the Ballard parade. Dan Watanabe especially (Treasurer of the PNFPG and board member of the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry) has devoted a great deal of time and energy assisting in the planning and preparation of this event. The PNFPG is truly devoted to the breed.

If you are interested in seeing these spectacular horses in action, consider attending the Northwest Fjord Show in Moses Lake, Washington, on August 24-26, 2007 or the International Fjord Horse Show in Libby, Montana (held in conjuntion with Libby's Annual Nordicfest). The horses and riders will compete in a variety of events, including pleasure driving (pulling wagons and carriages), English and Western riding, Draft events, Gymkhana, and a variety of events that highlight the amazing versatility of this powerful, yet gentle horse.
